It has been the toughest Spring we have ever had. It has been Winter, Summer, Spring and Winter and Summer again all in one short month here on the Hill. Unfortunately that caused a terrible pneumonia outbreak. We had seven sick goats and both calves came down with it as well. We felt like we were running an animal hospital rather than a farm for a while. Luckily everybody has recovered again except for our sweet little Caylee. She has been under ongoing care ever since she first came down sick. At this point we know that we won’t be able to ever breed her for sure and this is the best case scenario. We are still hoping to be able to give her a great life as a companion but can’t even be sure about that yet either. We will keep everybody updated on Caylee’s situation and sure appreciate any positive thoughts coming her way. With everybody else having recovered again we are finishing up this rather awful Spring with some very good news. Dot gave birth to healthy, beautiful twins on Saturday June 1st We are especially excited about her gorgeous spotted doeling !!!

By now the piglets have moved into their newly expanded outdoor enclosure. They are having a blast exploring, rooting and romping.

In between taking care of sick animals, we managed to build several new goat enclosures. The “Boys” have moved into their brand new summer “ digs” and they absolutely LOVE it. |
